Choosing a Driving School

There's no doubt about it, learning to drive can be a very expensive business. Just a word about that! It usually works out at about only half the cost of the first years car insurance for a newly qualified young driver. This puts it in some sort of perspective!

Even so, it's vitally important to get value for your money. You need to choose your driving school very carefully so that you can trust your instructor. For example, we at Ace Driving have heard of less honest instructors giving extra lessons after students have reached test standard. Mind you, it inevitably catches up with them because people talk.

The best course is to rely on word of mouth. Satisfied customers are happy to recommend a good instructor. We are pleased that the vast majority of our customers choose us on the recommendation of others. It tells us we are doing it right and, incidentally, it saves on advertising costs, enabling us to keep our prices down.

Options:

You have the choice between local independent driving schools and Larger, national companies. The larger companies are often part of corporations which have shareholders to satisfy. Addionally, their instructors are nearly always self employed and paying a franchise to the driving school for which they receive a car and other services, including providing customers.

Local independent instructors, such as Ace Driving, have no shareholders and do not pay a franchise fee. We are responsible for finding customers and to do this we need to give really good value. Often our costs, (reflected in our prices), are much less and we can also be more flexible in our hours of work, length of lessons, etc. We are also able to offer deals and concessions, which may be more difficult for franchise-payers.
